About RootyToot

Last updated: 14 June 2026

RootyToot is Aotearoa's green social network — a place for growers, food-forest builders, and kai-resilience communities to share progress, host events, list free courses, and connect beyond the scroll. Tagline: Cultivate the life you love.

RootyToot is operated by Vector Group Charitable Trust (registration CC45966) and built by Te Puke Digital. It sits in the wider VGCT network alongside learning, directory, and regional sites — each with its own job, linked so you can move from inspiration to action.

What you can do here

  • Post photos, updates, and questions from your garden, orchard, or community kai project.
  • Join groups and follow growers with similar interests.
  • Create and discover events — workshops, working bees, and meet-ups.
  • Browse and share free course listings that link to full lessons on the school platform.
  • Find people and projects through the RootyToot directory.

RootyToot is community-first, not an ad feed. Read our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use before you post.

Charity, memory, and infrastructure

Who RootyToot is for

Home growers, community gardens, schools, permaculture and food-forest groups, nursery people, and anyone building kai resilience in their neighbourhood — especially across Aotearoa New Zealand, with strong roots in Te Puke and the Bay of Plenty. You do not need to be a professional farmer. Share what you are learning, ask honest questions, and link out to courses and tools when you are ready to go deeper.
